NIGHT WITH HER TRAIN OF STARS
Single by Deborah Rose featuring Mari Randle

Singer-songwriter Deborah Rose has written a song called Night with her Train of Stars, inspired by Hughes’ watercolour.

Deborah explains, ‘I’m very drawn to Victorian painting and poetry. I find myself drawing on the past – old poems and stories, myths and legends, the mystery of Pre-Raphaelite paintings – and bringing them to life through music and song.

‘The themes in the poem Margaritae Sorori by William Ernest Henley which inspired Hughes’ Night with her Train of Stars are like a meditation into the afterlife and I wanted to craft that into a musical soundscape. The transitory nature of existence and the concept of life and death as a rebirthing cycle really interests me. I wanted the music to reflect the ascension of the soul reaching into the starry night, ending in peace and tranquillity with the “great gift of sleep.”’

Night with her Train of Stars is available on download
The song was produced by John Reynolds, featuring backing vocals from Mari Randle.
