Sharing this album in honour of a friend, Roy Williams

Sharing this album in honour of a friend, Roy Williams, who very sadly passed away this morning. Roy loved Melody, and one of my favourite stories of his was about the the time Ms Gardot drove him around New York in her very own bright yellow taxi. He said it was the ride of his life. Thank you for the music Roy, the reverb, the microphone tips, the spreadsheets, and the ‘just a thought.’ Kind and quietly self-assured, he was an encyclopedia of music, he introduced me to many great artists, Amy Lavere, poet Liz Berry, and BJ Cole. He nominated me for a tour with Jimmy Webb, and was the sound engineer. See photo of him below with Trace Smith, and Neil O’Brien at Cadogan Hall, London, exactly 5 years ago today. The last time I spoke with Roy in person he told me about his new love, for Tai Chi. Today I can’t do much, but clean, reflect, and in his memory, eat kettle chips, and drink green tea. He always said ‘God bless’ at the end of a phonecall. God bless you, Roy. No nominations, just sending out love to everyone who knew him, and who is hurting today
